Super Chevy Show Signals Spring for Racers and Fans
March 30, 2009
MEMPHIS – As has been the case for more than two decades, Memphis Motorsports Park officially ushers in spring THIS weekend with the smell of burnin’ rubber and the ever-popular Super Chevy Show, April 17-19.
Back for the 23rd consecutive year, this car lover’s extravaganza has grown from a single-day event to the second largest circuit in drag racing with its combination of fire-breathing jet cars, nitro coupes, bracket races, a performance and restoration marketplace, swap meet and car corral.
“Each April, the Super Chevy Show at Memphis Motorsports Park is a huge event for us, drawing fans, racers and car show participants from as far away as Alabama, Louisiana, Kentucky and Ohio,” said Jason Rittenberry, Memphis Motorsports Park vice president and general manager. “And because of our long-standing relationship with this event, Memphis enjoys one of the largest Manufacturers Midways on the circuit. Just the swap meet alone takes up several acres.”
